WinnDevelopment and its design and construction partners have been moving forward with the $65 million renovation of the Pines of Perinton since the Spring of 2023. Work is ongoing to renovate kitchens, bathrooms, flooring and windows in every apartment. To date, 54 apartments have been completely upgraded and work is underway to renovate an additional 39 units. In addition,19 newly built apartments have replaced those destroyed in a January 2022 fire and families began moving into them in March.
New roofs have already been installed on every building; every building has been repainted; and, a new security camera system is in operation. Renovations are also underway on the community center and leasing office, which are being modernized to offer additional resident amenities and meeting space. We expect that work to be completed in mid to late March. New energy-efficient heating and cooling systems are also planned for the property.
This is a substantial and complex project, designed to not only deliver long-overdue improvements to homes and the property but also to prevent any displacement of the residents. We appreciate the patience that residents have shown as we modernize the community.
