
Work has been completed on the reconfiguration and modernization of the Community Building at the Pines of Perinton, creating a far more functional and welcoming space for residents and service partners more than 50 years after it was first built.

The Community Building has long been an important hub for the community’s 508 households, serving as the central location where daycare, tutoring and other resident services are delivered.
Renovations on the 2,353-square-foot, fully ADA accessible building required seven months of construction.
The redesigned space offers multi-purpose rooms including a business center with computers and printer, a fitness room, a communal kitchen and event and lounge space for resident use.

New lighting, energy efficient heating and cooling systems, a new roof and insulation and modern furnishings also have been installed.
The new Community Building will be much more useful and attractive for residents and for the shared use of the nonprofit partners who offer important programs and services.
For example, Learning Links, a local service provider will return to the Pines three nights a week to offer tutoring services for school-aged children in this satellite location The organization’s services are exclusively for residents of the Pines.

The renovated space and new furnishings will be officially unveiled for residents and guests to tour during the upcoming June 26th Community Day Celebration.
Meanwhile, work on a new, redesigned community playground is expected to begin soon.
Overall, crew under the direction of general contractor DiMarco Constructors has now renovated nearly 25 percent of the apartment homes at the Pines, in addition to replacing the roofs on every building.
The $65 million project remains on schedule for completion sometime in late in 2025.
